The trouble with our leaders.

Our government is so strapped for cash that our politicians and leaders spend all their time these days trying to find new and creative ways to get our money. They don't really care that we are as strapped as they are. It's pretty funny that it always comes back to some kind of tax. Then when they come up with some new idea that they believe is truly genius they can't wait to announce the new tax to the public as if it will save the day. The mayor today announces the commuter tax that will only affect the commuter. Who does he think the commuter is for gods sake. The commuter pays all kinds of extra taxes already. "Now we will be taxing alcohol." I thought I was already paying taxes on alcohol. "We will tax taxi cabs." Aren't there taxes already included in taxi charges. "We will tax gasoline." Oh how original. They should have a contest to see who can come up with the most obscure tax that no one would object to. "Lets tax people with body odor and double it if its on a subway". I have to leave out smoking here because the smokers are supporting the whole Congress with the taxes they pay. "So lets tax any one wearing a turban." A turban reminds all of us about 911 so I think it would be a very good tax. Not much opposition." Lets tax the buses." This way you wouldn't have to raise the fare. The bus riding public could pay their fare and then you could explain to them that the additional money is a tax and not a fare increase. Obesity is a hot topic these days."
